Cape May and All That Jazz

Cape May and All That Jazz

Cape May and all that Jazz brings Exit 0 to life in just under two weeks. As Jay Lloyd of KYW1060 likes to say “when your tires get wet and Jazz fills your ear you know you’re in Cape May.”  Cape May and Jazz go hand in hand to make this cool town heat up in the fall. You can hear Jay talk about Cape May and all that Jazz by clicking here.

Named for the last exit to Cape May off of the Garden State Parkway, the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival transforms the charming Victorian seaside town into “a veritable jazz village” twice a year that offers world-class music, fine wine, great food and happy music fans. Attracting thousands from surrounding major metropolitan regions including New York City, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. – all within a four or five hour drive – the festival features Grammy Award-winners, living legends, NEA Jazz Masters, emerging jazz stars, international musicians and homegrown talent too.

Headliners for the 4th edition of the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival November 7-9, 2014, are Grammy Award winner Monty Alexander, internationally-acclaimed vocalist René Marie, exciting New Orleans pianist and bandleader Jonathan Batiste and the legendary players of The Cookers. The perfect size for a family-friendly festival, Exit 0 offers fest-goers the opportunity to stroll from venue to venue and revel in many styles of music from jazz, soul, blues and R&B – not to mention the gorgeous ocean setting of the National Historic Landmark city.

Cape May and all that Jazz

Promoting Cape May and all that Jazz for me is an act of encouragement for the festival staff and founder Michael Kline. Bringing such a lively weekend of entertainment on the shoulder season is brilliant. Michael says:

“We are thrilled to bring the Exit 0 Jazz Festival experience to Cape May and humbled to be able to present the Festival in a town that has such a special feel to it – a sense of place that feels like home and feels like possibility, a feeling that envelopes you as you cross the bridge into Cape May. Could be the energy from the ocean and the amazing fall light – but both our audience and the performers draw from it and we’ve witnessed some amazing festival moments. We strive to bring a little of that New Orleans street party flavor to Cape May too and I think Exit 0 Jazz celebrates how great our town is in all seasons. It’s exciting to know that people are returning time and time again and telling their friends. Everyone is welcome here.”

Time is of the essence as the Jazz Fest draws near. For tickets and information contact the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival website.  To see a list of all the great partners supporting this great festival visit the Jazz festival website.
