Exit Zero Jazz Cape May Style

The 6th Autumn Edition of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival kicks off in Cape May, this Thursday through Sunday, November 9-12, 2017. The weekend fills Cape May venues with New Orleans Jazz energy.

The release of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival schedule causes the energy in town to palpitate to the highest levels. Visitors and locals try to estimate time to get from venue to venue to not miss acts.

This year, ticket buyers are travelling from as far away as the U.K. for this year’s festival.

Charismatic Festival Producer Michael Kline has crafted a world-class lineup of award winning artists for the 2017 Autumn Festival. Debuting this year, A Night in New Orleans: A Benefit Concert for Music Connects, the non-profit, educational outreach arm of the Festival.

Thursday, November 9th, A Night In New Orleans features Grammy Award Winners The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience.

The Exit Zero Jazz Festival headliners kick off Friday, November 10th on the MusicConnects Stage in Schmidtchen Theater with supergroup Fouplay. For over two decades the contemporary jazz quartet has enjoyed consistent artistic and commercial success by blending elements of R&B, pop, and a variety of other sounds to their unwavering jazz foundations.

Saturday, November 11th, Exit Zero Jazz presents Grammy Award Winner Gregory Porter, his generation’s most soulful jazz singer-songwriter. Kline remarks about the coup of presenting Gregory and his band, “With Gregory’s deep roots in jazz, soul and gospel, we believe he embodies what Exit Zero Jazz is all about, presenting great music that touches the soul.”

The Exit Zero Jazz Festival is a multi-venue festival with headline concerts in the aforementioned Schmidtchen Theater, featured concerts in Cape May Convention Hall and the Cape May Brewing Company Hops Pass club series featuring a wide array of great music in the clubs and restaurants of Cape May.

Featured artists performing on the Cape May Convention Hall / It’s a Breeze & Hawk Haven Stage include Lizz Wright, Etienne Charles and Creole Soul, Brian Blade Fellowship, Arturo O’Farill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, and Ranky Tanky.
