Pictures Speak When Words Don’t

Some mornings are meant for enjoying creation in it’s best art form-Sunrise. For me, morning walks in September are really not much different from summer. Very few people venture out that early when on vacation.

The major change is the sun’s position and the occasionally dramatic cloud formations brought on by the warm and cold fronts colliding or passing by.

Today’s walk with Golden Retriever Joy takes us out Delaware Avenue past the Nature Center, scene of the annual Harborfest celebration and this months Dragon Boat races September 27th.

Next its a quick stop near Poverty Beach, home of the Piping Plovers. People on Instagram often use the hash-tag #cloudporn. I prefer sky art.

Even when you are watching what might be one of the most dramatic sunrises you have ever seen, you simply must turnaround and look behind you.

The sun’s reflection and radiance on a partly cloudy morning puts on a show that is multi-dimensional. Arriving at Howard street, home of the Macomber Hotel and the famous arcade of Cape May you get the feeling as one writer says-“We have arrived in Cape May.”

What is your favorite Cape May landmark? I’d love to know.

i can LIST my “favorite” cape may landmarks, but to name just one then i would have to say there is a tie. the lighthouse and congress hall. i probably have just as many pictures of both that i have taken over the decades as i do of my kids…. ;0)

the history at both landmarks is incredible, there is always something new to learn.
not to mention the mystique. of course it’s everywhere in beautiful cape may.
