Welcome to CookeCapeMay

Always passionate about Cape May, John Cooke has been a full time resident since 2004. And he’s no stranger to the sunrises here. You can blame that on his seven-year-old Golden Retriever Joy.

You’ll often see him downtown loading his Canon camera with pictures of sunrises, landscapes and Cape May visitors. John is a regular contributor to the Cape May Star and Wave and his work has also been published in Cape May Magazine and Exit Zero Magazine. An article in the Wall Street Journal on Nostalgic Vacations featured his photograph from Cape May.

While serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May from 2010 to 2013, he served to facilitate multiple city-wide events including Harborfest, which attracted over 10,000 people to Cape May.

An unofficial ambassador for all things Cape May,  regularly blogs and actively tweets from @cookecapemay and has an avid Instagram following by the same name.

John Cooke has more than 30 years experience in the Hospitality Industry– from owning a 100 seat restaurant to managing an 800 room hotel in Philadelphia. His expertise as a consultant in reputation management and social media is extensive. He manages the popular Victorian Motel in Cape May with his wife Suzanne.

Married to Suzanne for 30 years, John enjoys sailing, cooking and walking his Golden Retriever Joy on Cape May’s beaches at sunrise.
