How to Avoid Getting a Parking Ticket in Cape May

Here are some helpful tips to help everyone as we try to navigate the “ParkMobile App” together. And how to avoid getting a parking ticket in Cape May.

  • Please know that the City of Cape May requires digital parking payments with credit/debit cards via ParkMobile at the following locations*: Carpenters Lane, Lyle Lane, Mansion Street, the Jackson Street Parking Lot, the Welcome Center parking lots, and the north side of Beach Avenue.
  • Paid parking in effect April 1st through December 31st on Carpenters Lane, Lyle Lane, Mansion Street, and in the Welcome Center parking lots.
  • In all other areas, paid parking is in effect from April 1st through October 31st*.

Here are the five ways to Use ParkMobile:

  1. Download the ParkMobile App and follow the instructions.
  2. Scan QR code (also on the green ParkMobile signage) and follow the instructions.
  3. Type parkmobile.ioin your mobile phone’s internet browser and follow the instructions.
  4. Text “Park” to 77223 and follow the instructions.
  5. Call 877-727-5304 and follow the instructions.

Please always check the signage near where you are parking. Single parking space meters that accept quarters are still located at other paid parking areas in the City. Signage also indicates paid parking dates and times and time limits or restrictions.

    Do I need to use the app if I have a handicapped placard and will use it to park when I am in Cape May?

      No with a handicap placard you do not need to pay in Cape May.
