How To Get A Private Chef In Cape May

How to get a private chef in Cape May.

Losing one of the local’s favorite eateries seems to be a trend in Cape May in recent months. First the Pilot House was sold and slowly went through transition. Then the building that housed the popular Italian restaurant, Cucina Rosa was sold and the Cucina closed its doors. Sometimes you can take Guy out of the kitchen but you can’t take the kitchen out of Guy.

After 22 years as Executive Chef at Cucina Rosa, Chef Guy Portewig is launching a new venture.

Chef Guy,” private chef,  specializing in private dinner parties, summer barbeques, rehearsal dinners, holiday and other celebrations. All in the relaxed atmosphere of your home or vacation rental house.  Imagine, you are on vacation and instead of visiting a crowded restaurant with 10 of your closest friends, Chef Guy comes to you. Brilliant idea you say?

“Entertaining made effortlessly and deliciously” said Guy Portewig.  “I will  custom design the perfect menu then personally shop, cook and take care of every detail to make your celebration fun and memorable” Guy said.   And of course, his Cucina Rosa specialties will be on the menu as well as new favorites, he tells me.

For the summer visitors, what could be better than spending the day on the beach and coming home to their own private chef preparing a fabulous meal?   Chef Guy is already booking for summer-house rentals in Cape May and Avalon.

Having sent guests to Cucina Rosa for the past eleven years and knowing they were always happy, leads me to believe that Chef Guy is going to be an overwhelming success. For that reason Chef Guy will treat each event and meal individually. You can expect personal attention and custom menus and arrangements.

Dishes like Guy’s Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Portofino will be just a couple of the popular dishes on the menu.

Totally awesome! I am going to get his card or whatever advertisement he has to put in all the rentals I manage. Hope to use him myself as well. Thanks for the info.

Great idea! My wife Lorrie always ordered his Shrimp Scampi when we dined there.
We live in Cape May Point and perhaps we will use him ourselves.
