Valentines Day Weekend Cape May Events

Breaking out of the winter doldrums is easy if you visit Cape May.  Especially Valentines Day weekend, Cape May events can spice up your life, single or otherwise. Restaurant owners will tell you the only thing better than New Year’s Eve on a weekend is Valentine’s Day on a Friday or Saturday night.

This weekend for instance, if you don’t already have dinner reservations, you may have to get creative fast. Therefore we are told, Willow Creek Winery, at the time of this blog still had some space available. You might also try La Mer’s Pier House. 

If the only thing you make for dinner is reservations, hurry up!!

10th Annual Chili Chowder Cook-Off

One of the steamiest, much-anticipated events of the winter, the Chili Chowder Cook-off. A highlight of Valentine’s Day weekend Cape May events.

Sunday, February 16th from Noon to 3:30 (While supplies last) at the Grand Hotel of Cape May 1045 Beach Ave.

$10 per person Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May benefitting local food banks.

A cool event with “Hot” stuff! Right here in Cape May! Just $10 per person to taste approximately 20 tastings from the Chili & Chowder participants
Cash Bar with your favorite cocktails, beers, and wines!
There are crafters and other local vendors offering wonderful handmade gifts and other cool stuff!

Cape May Winery Tap Room for Happy Hour!

An adults-only occasion.  On special are 2 rotating 1 Liter carafes as well as a featured Food & Wine Special. Wine is available by the bottle & carafe or have a flight or glass from our Tap Room selection. Enjoy ordering from their Tapas Menu while listening to live music from 5 pm-8 pm!

Singles Version Fire Pit Friday at Willow Creek Winery

If you don’t have a date, you’re invited to come hang with friends and other singles, enjoy live music from Innuendo from 5:30-9:30 PM while you sample a unique selection of premium locally-grown, produced, and bottled wines. Reserve a table to un-wine with a glass (or bottle) of your favorite wine and order farm-fresh favorites from their tantalizing tapas and small plates menu. Be sure to grab another glass before gathering around their beautiful vineyard fire pit to share a magical night with friends beneath the starlit sky.

The Great Backyard Bird Count Workshop

However, if something outdoors is your cup of tea, head up the road a bit and help count birds.

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is a big weekend of birding for nature lovers across the globe! Over 160,000 people in 130 countries participate each February to collect real-time data about winter bird distributions and abundance. Help us tally the birds at the Forsythe while contributing to real scientific research.
