Lets face it Cape May is the Pot-O’-Gold at the end of the rainbow. Driving across the bridge into Cape May is a magical experience for many folks including locals. Some will compare it to driving south to Key West or across the lake into New Orleans.
Last night with the Golden Retriever’s precisely timed need to go out, I was able to capture this almost brilliant rainbow. I could see the sunset was creating a wonderful light on the roof tops. The fully dome-shaped rainbow appeared like a shield over the city reminiscent of Stephen King’s, “Under the Dome”. It wasn’t apparent just how magnificent it was until we reached the second floor of the motel.
When I realized we had a rainbow starting I quickly gave Joy a “find Uncle Jim” command and up the stairs to room 200 she headed. Joy, my five year old Golden, has a knack for finding her favorite guests. Guests that bring treats that is. It was on the sundeck that I realized we had a winner of a sunset rainbow. Rarely, ok never, without my IPhone I was able to snap a few pictures of the soon fading rainbow.
Ranbows evoke emotion in people. Cape May soothes peoples emotions. For this Irish guy I will place Cape May at the start of or under the rainbow, not at the end.
Wow! That is amazing! Beautiful picture.
