A note from your Admins John and Ginny:
Ginny and I are just fine, thank you for asking. I (John) belong to groups with twice as many members and the same number of admins.
Thank you for being part of one of the fastest-growing groups about Cape May.
Now that we have over 80,000 members, it might be a good time to address a few topics and offer housekeeping guidelines. We realize that not all 82,000 people are not real. Yes in the amount of time it took to write this, 2000 more jumped in.
For every one active person, there are dozens on the sidelines getting informed or entertained. Or both.
The group page remains public for several reasons: growth and the ability to share salient information with other groups and your profiles. However, spam, bots, and other fake profiles are rampant across Facebook, not just here.
The best way to deal with annoying things is to report them or scroll past them. Since we don’t spend all day glued to our devices,, we quickly delete reported posts. Ginny and I think alike, so it’s scary. Messaging us about a post is not the fastest way to address an issue. Just report it.
On Cape May Live’s original post, Post your business updates and advertising. Post about your events. Post news. But not drama. Translation: don’t get snarky, but keep it salty.
If Facebook deems your business post as spam, so will we. In the future, if you are posting about a business, we prefer it to have a county zip code and preference to brick and mortar stores in Cape May.
Hi John.
I agree with you.
You are both so patient and even tempered.
You have my respect for keeping up with all of us.
Thank you for everything, it’s an awesome FB Page!
You guys do a great job. Dealing with the public is not always an easy task. Thanks!
You both do a great job. Thank you for all you contribute to this site.
