Have you heard? More importantly have you listened to the Locals Radio Program?

Every Friday for the last fourteen weeks the Locals Radio program has aired on the Center for Community Arts WCFA-Lp.org radio station. The Locals Radio is heard at 101.5 FM from Cape May to Avalon and streams on the organizations website.

We record each episode at either Uncle Bill’s Pancake House in Cape May or North Cape May. Tom Hogan works the sound board and edits the final recording. He is an unsung hero.

On the first episode we interviewed Jack Wright of Exit Zero Publishing. We learned among other things that Jack started out as a pool boy at Congress Hall. Listen for yourself!

Vicky Clark, Dillon Mullock, Doreen Talley and Mark Allen have covered everything from business to fishing and events on other programs . Virtually everything is on the table when we sit around the microphone. In almost every episode we learn something surprising and interesting about our guest.

Zach Mullock and Patricia Gray Hendricks, candidates for Cape May City Council, sat down with the program hosts and discussed their respective platforms.  Mayor Edward Mahaney has been invited via email to join us. As of this blog post we have not had a reply. Chuck Lear the challenger to the incumbent is scheduled to be our next guest.

Bernie Haas, Cape May’s other publishing mogul sat down with us right before the Labor Day holiday. Bernie talked about the responsibility of operating and hosting CapeMay.com. He also eloquently expressed his views about Cape May’s beach theater and the current state of affairs in Cape May.

The program will also feature a What’s Cooke-ing segment, where I will update on popular upcoming events such as Movies on the Beach and concerts at Convention Hall.

One of the unexpected outcomes of starting a new radio program was the intense interest to listen at convenient time. Until we set up a podcast, were hosting three of the seven programs on Sound Cloud,  an online hosting platform for musicians and other outlets.
