The Heart of Cape May Celebrates the Holiday Season
(Cape May, NJ) There’s no better place for Christmas shopping than the Washington Street Mall. It will be festively adorned with Christmas Trees, fresh greens and berries.
See the Mall illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights. Enjoy strolling the Washington Street Mall and the businesses of the Mall which are ready to help make visitors’ shopping experience as enjoyable as possible.
The small business owners of the Mall are participating in SMALL Business Saturday on Saturday, November 26th. This event encourages everyone to patronize Small Businesses and the Washington Street Mall, the “Heart of Cape May”, with its individually owned and operated shops is the perfect place for that.
Beginning Thursday, December 1st, many businesses are offering extended evening shopping hours. The many shops and restaurants will be open daily from 10 to 5 with extended shopping hours from 10 am till 9 pm on Friday and Saturday for your shopping convenience.
On Friday, December 2nd at 7 pm, enjoy some old fashioned holiday cheer when the City of Cape May officially kicks off the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the newly renovated Rotary Park Bandstand located on the 400 block of Lafayette Street. The festive family program will include caroling, a presentation from the LCMR chorus and a special visit from Santa Claus. Cape May City officials and representatives for the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May, and Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities will also be present for the ceremony.
Hospitality Nights on the Mall are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, December 8th and 9th from 7 pm to 9 pm. You can shop as you enjoy some holiday cheer at the small businesses of the Washington Street Mall. Enjoy strolling carolers and you might just encounter Old St. Nicholas.
