Hospitality night on the Washington Street Mall in Cape May is a great way for the merchants to say thank you and Merry Christmas.
The 96 merchants of the Mall opened their doors from 7pm tp 9pm and extended holiday hospitality to friends and neighbors, offering an array of interesting and unusual items, as well as seasonal treats.
Local residents as well as out-of-town visitors poured onto the mall as merchants pour all manner of hot and cold beverages. Some even dish up samples of signature dishes.
Here, Chef/owner Alfredo of That’s Amore served pasta in a vodka cream sauce:

Further down the mall on the right, Tisha’s ever popular hot chocolate had folks lined up.
Tisha’s owners, Paul and Jennifer, know how to put the kick in hot chocolate….
The Mall merchants made sure there was entertainment to serenade the strolling visitors. A brass band performed alongside the Town Crier.
No matter which end of the mall you were on, people enjoyed themselves.
No one enjoyed themselves more than this pair with Santa in front of Winterwood Gift Shop. Michael Williams of Tinton Falls New Jersey and his son MJ who turns one tomorrow, took a selfie with Santa. I love the expression on little MJ’s face.
Whatever the magic about the Winterwood corner, last years Star and Wave front page photo came with the same Santa.
