They said “DO IT” So I “DID”

This morning I asked five serious bloggers which blog platform they started with and which one they used today. Four out of the five came back with word press. Two out of the five offered an enthusiastic “DO IT”.

So after reading an inspirational blog by Craig Kelley, on blogging if five minutes, I thought I’d try.

Posting regularly to Facebook, personally and on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May, people tell me they enjoy my photos and posts. Tweeting as @cookecapemay also brings a lot of feedback too. Generally I am posting/tweeting on behalf of tourism related issues.

Perhaps blogging about tourism related topics will be how I get started. But preferably it will be of a personal note with photos of Cape May beach walks, dog walks and other amusing topics.

Oh the five serious bloggers that inspire me: Maria Tettamanti, aka The Wordy Girl, Jen A Miller, Sara Wilson aka My Smart Puppy, Mark Miller aka Cape May Blogger, and my sister in law Suzanne Cooke of Royal Port Antiques in Salem

Way to go John! We crossed paths on Windsor Ave & you kindly steered me towards My Smart Puppy for my overly friendly puppy- Taylor. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Joy also that day. Check out the blog Marking Out Territory- Will shares his adventures with companion Eko- a dynamic Rhodesian Ridgeback. Terrific photos/stories. (And Will is from NJ:-) Congrats on the blog & happy writing! Jen

Congrats on the new blog! You chose a great platform too. I have 2 other successful Blogger blogs, but wildwooddays.net is my first WordPress one, and so far I’m glad I switched. Much luck to you!

Glad to hear you were inspired to start your own blog. Great job! We plan on stopping by Cape May in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait! One thing I’d like to see on your blog is an “about” page that would tell the me (and your readers) a bit about yourself. Keep up the great work!
