Cape May window boxes are blooming with spring flowers. Inspired by a past trip to Newburyport Massachusetts, and an Instagram search of window box hashtags, I started an Instagram collection of Cape May window boxes.
I thought it might be nice to take my blog readers along for the journey and documentation of some of the Cape May window boxes. It is a work in progress. Some of the window boxes in Cape May will no doubt change as the season progresses.
One business owner asked me to wait to photograph the store’s normally popular window boxes till they were refreshed for the summer. I am happy to honor that request.
Let’s see where we found some Cape May window boxes:
Everyone would recognize the brilliant colors at Louisa’s restaurant and chocolate bar on Jackson Street.
Jackson street is chock full of the beginning of my collection.
41 Jackson Street decorates their front steps nicely. (We will be sticking to window boxes of Cape May primarily).
Away from Jackson Street for a moment on Congress Street the Sea glass house is ornamented with window/railing boxes and hanging planters. Nicely done.
It took me a few days to realize that my wife’s own window boxes were designed to bloom in the afternoon sun. I had bypassed them in the morning because they just didn’t pop. But then this happened.
Let us know what you think of the project and collection. If you are in Cape May feel free to post your own photos of Cape May window boxes and be sure to hashtag them #windowboxesofcapemay so all of us can enjoy them. Keep checking back, there’s more to come.
Cheers!
We saw most of these in the last two days. They are gorgeous !!I am hoping that the hydrangeas are out when I come back to Cape May in two weeks. Great pictures John!
Lovely!!!
Please take more pics of window boxes along with the names of flowers if you know. I need some new ideas for my boxes!
